Hello Wild Embodied Souls of Nature –
There is something emerging with this spring time in the Northern Hemisphere. As the days grow longer and warmer folks are starting to inquire about what’s next in their life? What’s been on the back burner (for the past 3 years or the past 30)? What do I need to nourish and awaken back into the world that is forever changed and yet deeply familiar? How have my needs and desires shifted during this in-between time of isolation and separation?
I have been so blessed and grateful for my online connections with my clients, students, family and friends over the past three years. It has been a life saver and continues to allow me connections AND I am noticing that I have a deep hunger for in person exchanges of all kinds…grocery store banter, dinner gatherings, personal rituals, walks in urban places and people watching in airports. Yet, it seems I get more drained from these than I used to and need more down time. Is it like a muscle that lost its strength and needs both to be worked a little and to be rested a little to train back to its most stable and capable? Yes, and we change and are changed over time by the experiences of life. What wants to emerge now will be different because of what we have been through.
I am find myself in a bit of a conundrum during this season. A longing to find ways to offer in person classes and experiences and also feeling exhausted by the effort, especially since I am in a new place without the old connections and history to call upon. At the same time, I am desirous of offering more online content for more of my peeps to partake in and again I feel challenged in the effort and by my own self-doubt. This is all to say…if you find yourself struggling and swinging with a back and forth yearning in this spring time I invite you to be understanding and compassionate with yourself. We have been forever changed by these past three years. We may need some time to acquaint ourselves with ourselves from this new vantage point. And to re-enter into the deeper knowing of community and care.
What is fresh and new in you? What is tired and needs tending? How can you hold them both with generosity and kindness?
I want to thank you for reading this missive each month. And thank you for being a part of my community and sometimes taking the time to respond with your own thoughts and ruminations about life in a body on this wild planet. Thank you for your ongoing curiosity about life, practice and being present. May you find the right balance of re-emergence and rest in this spring time blooming.
May we slow down enough to listen to the wisdom in our body
May we have gentle compassion for the yearnings for seemingly opposite needs
May we find a way to dance with the activity and rest necessary for life
May we bring blessings and presence to all we encounter
Practice Prompts:
- Take some time to listen to the birds and the emerging season and how it speaks to your body and soul. How does your being reflect this re-awakening? Does it spring forth, shy back or both? Can any and all responses be held gently?
- Give yourself time each day to rock a little. Yes, rock side to side or front to back just like you would rock a small child…gently and sweetly. See what this offer of rhythm and movement elicit in you. A sense of settling…spectrum of possibly…rest…?
- Take many pauses throughout the day to listen to the urges that may be arising you. They may be familiar and they may seem counter-intuitive yet may be needed. Can you offer yourself the blessing of listening and responding in ‘kindness’.
- I offer one to one sessions in person in Bend, Oregon and virtually all over the world. If you would like to learn more about my offerings please email me or schedule a free 20 minute Exploratory Session.

Inspirational Wisdom:
“It is in community and relationship with others that we locate a self that we can never find being isolated.
It is in community and in relationship with each other that we come to know the consciousness and the spirit of God that is in each of us.”
